Report: 27-year-old is ‘unhappy’ with his current situation at Tottenham

Football Insider have revealed that Giovani Lo Celso is unhappy with his current situation at Tottenham Hotspur and wants to depart the club this summer.

Lo Celso’s season has once again been hampered by injuries, which has been a recurring trend for the midfielder over the past five years.

He did get a few opportunities earlier this season when James Maddison was out injured and showed that he can thrive in Ange Postecoglou’s system. However, as expected, the 27-year-old’s game time has been quite limited since the England international’s return to fitness.

It has been reported by various Spanish outlets over the past few weeks (including Mundo Deportivio and Sport) that the Argentine could be La Liga-bound this summer.

Lo Celso unhappy with his Spurs situation

Football Insider have now said that the Tottenham man is not happy with his lack of minutes and is now ‘pushing’ for an exit from North London this summer.

It is alleged that the Lilywhites will not stand in Lo Celso’s way and are ready to facilitate his departure to make way for new signings.

In fact, the publication asserts that Ange Postecoglou’s men have already started planning for reinforcements in the middle of the park, with Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White said to be one of the names on their wishlist.

If Lo Celso’s season had not been hampered by injuries, he might have had a chance of potentially convincing Postcoglou to include him in his long-term plans.

However, it simply has not worked out for the Argentine in North London and the time is probably right for both parties to go their separate ways this summer.
