Report: 27-year-old Spurs player could leave club over coming days – Turkish window still open

With the Turkish transfer window still open, Yeni Asir have suggested that Giovani Lo Celso could be bound for Galatasaray over the coming days.

There were some murmurs at the start of the January window about Lo Celso potentially exiting the club but nothing concrete materialised, with the midfielder remaining put at Hotspur Way.

It is not difficult to understand why Ange Postecoglou decided to keep the Argentine, who stepped up with some impressive displays in November and December following the injury to James Maddison.

Lo Celso could be in line for a shock Spurs exit

If Yeni Asir’s latest update is to be believed, the midfielder is now set for talks with Postecoglou over his future.

It is alleged that the 27-year-old ‘wants to leave’ Hotspur Way as he wants regular game timer under his belt over the next few months.

This is where Galatasaray come in, with Turkish sides being allowed to register players to their squad until February 9.

The report adds that the Istanbul side are working to ‘increase the alternatives’ in their midfield and have identified the Tottenham man as the right fit.

Spurs Web Opinion

I have a hard time believing this report. If Lo Celso wanted to leave Spurs, he would have done so in January, with no shortage of interest in him from Spain and Italy. I do not see why the Argentine would reject those clubs, only to have his head suddenly turned by Galatasaray’s approach.
