Report: 27-year-old Spurs player is ‘keen’ on moving to PL club this summer

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Giovani Lo Celso is keen on joining Aston Villa when the transfer window opens this summer.

Lo Celso has been in impressive form for Villarreal since returning from his hamstring injury and The Daily Mail were the first to report a couple of weeks ago that the midfielder’s displays had caught the attention of Aston Villa.

The publication claimed that Unai Emery, who had worked with the Argentine at Paris Saint-Germain and Villarreal, was keen to reunite with the player at Villa Park.

The report added that Tottenham ‘would be happy’ to sell the player this summer as the North London club are looking to overhaul their squad.

Romano has now taken to social media to back up Villa’s interest in Lo Celso, revealing that Emery is ‘pushing’ for the club to snap up the midfielder.

The journalist added that while the player is waiting to understand who Tottenham’s next head coach will be when he returns to the club for pre-season, he is ‘keen’ on joining the Midlands club.

However, Romano explained that Lo Celso is not the only midfielder on Villa’s wishlist this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

I suspect that the decision on Lo Celso’s future would not be made until Tottenham hire a new sporting director and head coach.

The new manager might want to assess the Argentine in pre-season and make up his own mind on whether he would fit into his tactical set-up.
