Report: 28-year-old is Tottenham’s ‘main objective’ to replace experienced star

TuttoMercatoWeb have now asserted that Jordan Pickford is Tottenham’s top target to replace Hugo Lloris next summer.

Over recent weeks, several goalkeepers have been mooted as potential replacements for Lloris, with Borussia Monchengladbach’s Yann Sommer (GiveMeSport) and Aston Villa’s Emi Martinez (GiveMeSport) among the names alleged to be on Spurs’ radar.

However, the goalkeeper whose name has been most frequently mentioned over recent months is Pickford.

90 min reported during the summer transfer window Tottenham enquired about the Everton number one while negotiating with the Toffees for Richarlison.

Journalist Graeme Bailey then told TEAMtalk last month the England international is one of the names on Spurs’ three-man shortlist to replace their captain.

TMW have now become the latest publication to report on Tottenham’s interest in Pickford, with the report stating that the Toffees star is the North London club’s ‘main objective’ ahead of next summer.

The report asserts that despite Lloris’ reliant performances at the World Cup, Antonio Conte’s side have already made up their minds to replace the Frenchman at the end of the season.

Spurs Web Opinion

Pickford would be the most obvious choice as he comes with Premier League experience and would be relatively cheap since he will have just one year left on his contract at Everton by next summer. However, Man Utd and Chelsea are also likely to be in the market for a goalkeeper, which is why the race for the England number one could heat up.
