Football Insider have revealed that Tottenham’s managerial target, Ruben Amorim has now emerged as ‘one to watch’ for Chelsea.
Since Graham Potter’s departure, Chelsea have been credited with an interest in several candidates who are thought to also be on Spurs’ wishlist.
Fabrizio Romano revealed on his YouTube channel a couple of days ago that the Blues have already spoken to Julian Nagelsman and also have their eyes on Luis Enrique and Amorim.
Multiple Portuguese outlets have suggested over the last couple of weeks that the Sporting Lisbon boss is one of Tottenham’s top targets (Correio da Manha).
Football Insider have now also reported on Chelsea’s interest in Amorim, claiming that he has emerged as the ‘one to watch’.
It is explained that the 38-year-old was interviewed by the Stamford Bridge hierarchy last Autumn before Potter’s appointment and that the Blues chief were ‘highly impressed’ with the Portuguese coach during the process.
The report adds that Nagelsmann remains Chelsea’s top target but the West London club could decide to move for Amorim if they fail to tempt the German to take the job.
Spurs Web Opinion
Chelsea’s decision to sack Potter is not good news for Spurs as the two clubs are seemingly competing for the same managers.
The current unrest at Tottenham after the Paratici fiasco may hinder the club’s search for a new head coach, giving the Blues a big advantage in the race for the likes of Nagelsmann and Amorim.
