Report: 48-year-old reaches verbal agreement with Daniel Levy

According to a report from La Repubblica, Fabio Paratici has agreed to become Tottenham’s Director of Football.

Paratici stepped down from his role of Chief of Football Operations at Juventus recently and the 48-year-old has reportedly been speaking to Spurs.

The former Juve man is now said to have reached a verbal agreement with Daniel Levy about a move to North London.

The report reveals that Paratici’s first phone call after reaching an agreement with Spurs was to his friend and former colleague Antonio Conte.

The pair had a lot of success together at Juventus and Paratici is reportedly trying to convince the Inter boss to start a new project with him at Tottenham.

The idea of joining Spurs is now said to be ‘more than a temptation’ for Conte, as it offers the 51-year-old the chance to return to London, four years after he led Chelsea to a Premier League title in his first season in English football.

It sounds like Tottenham might have pursued Paratici first in order to convince Antonio Conte of the project. While Conte does have a reputation of being high maintenance and challenging to work with, bringing in someone like Paratici, who the former Inter boss knows and trusts, could potentially be a masterstroke.
