Report: 58-year-old Spurs legend emerges as shock contender to replace Conte

According to Kicker (via GGFN), Tottenham icon Jurgen Klinsmann has now emerged as a shock contender to take over as the North London club’s head coach.

Klinsmann is revered by the Tottenham fan base, having spent two spells at the club as a player.

The former Germany manager has been linked with the Spurs hot seat on a number of occasions over the years and even admitted back in 2021 that he held conversations with Daniel Levy regarding the vacancy before the Spurs chairman decided to go a different way (FourFourTwo).

The 55-year-old only took over as South Korea’s head coach back in February but Kicker have now suggested that he could potentially be on his way back to Spurs just a few months on.

The publication asserts that Klinsmann, who was a guest at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, has now emerged as a contender for the job, alongside the likes of Brendan Rodgers, Vincent Kompany, Mauricio Pochettino, Graham Potter and Julian Nagelsmann.

Daniel Levy and the Spurs hierarchy have an excellent relationship with Klinsmann and it is quite possible that they might have consulted the German on his opinion about the vacancy.

However, there is no chance that the North London club would consider hiring the 55-year-old as their next head coach.
