Report: £88m valued midfielder keen to play for Pochettino

Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur in recent weeks and the North London club are said to have already lodged a bid of £53million for the 23-year-old which has been rejected (Diaro de Sevilla).

Lo Celso only officially became a Betis player in April after completing a permanent deal from PSG after spending a season-long loan at the Spanish side.

Betis triggered a £20million option in the loan deal after his impressive season in La Liga saw him score 16 goals and six assists in 45 games in all competitions (talkSPORT).

Lo Celso has an £88million release clause in his contract and it is understood Betis want to sell him for a fee closer to that amount which would represent a huge profit (BBC).

The Mirror are reporting that the player is keen to link up with his compatriot Mauricio Pochettino with Spurs potentially looking for a player to fill the void if Christian Eriksen leaves in the summer.

Opinion

Christian Eriksen has had a disappointing few months at Spurs which has led to some fans presuming that he is already on his way out of the club. Lo Celso would certainly inject some energy into our attack and knows where the back of the net is.
