Report: A nice touch from Tottenham’s academy players ahead of the CL final

Tottenham Hotspur’s big day is inching ever closer, as the Lilywhites now have under two weeks until their first ever Champions League final.

After pulling off a sensational second-half comeback from 3-0 down on aggregate against Ajax, Spurs booked themselves a place in European football’s most prestigious final on June 1 against Liverpool in Madrid.

Spurs will hopefully be able to count of their two biggest academy stars, Harry Kane and Harry Winks, for the match, as they are both back in training (Express).

However, Tottenham will be utilising their academy in yet another way as they prepare for the final next month, as revealed by the Daily Mail.

A report from the news outlet states that a number of young academy stars have postponed their holidays in order to assist the first team in their preparations.

With Mauricio Pochettino having his stars on specially-crafted training programs, he will be using the academy starlets to make up the numbers in training sessions when some first teamers are in the gym or completing indoor work.

Spurs Web Opinion:

This is a nice touch from the academy lads, giving up their hard-earned holidays to assist the first team in potentially winning a trophy, even though the youngsters wouldn’t receive a medal. However, it will hopefully give them a chance to impress Pochettino, as he does enjoy bringing one or two academy stars through into the first team set-up each season.
