Report: AC Milan are determined to win the race for player linked with Spurs

MilanLive.it have revealed that AC Milan are determined to win the race for Bournemouth centre-back Lloyd Kelly even though the player is also wanted by the likes of Tottenham.

While most of the reportage over the last week and a half has been about Tottenham’s pursuit of Jean-Clair Todibo and Radu Dragusin, many outlets have continued to indicate that Kelly remains on the club’s radar (The Athletic).

MilanLive have now shed light on the state of play regarding the 25-year-old’s future, explaining that the player has ‘never disappeared’ from Rossoneri’s wishlist.

AC Milan want to move for Lloyd Kelly

The report states that Kelly’s profile is the one the Serie A club’s management ‘like the most’, given his ability to play at centre-back or left-back.

It is explained that the Cherries would rather lose the Englishman on a free next summer than sell him in January but this has not put off Milan.

The outlet points out Kelly would be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with non-English clubs from February and reveals that competition for the player continues to be intense, with Tottenham and Arsenal ‘above all’ at the moment.

The publication adds that the Bournemouth star is also on the radars of Juventus, Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund, but it is a ‘tempting opportunity’ that Stefano Pioli’s men ‘want to seize’.

Spurs Web Opinion

It sounds like Kelly is being viewed as a target for next summer by most of these clubs, with Bournemouth not planning on offloading the centre-back mid-season.

While the likes of Milan have an advantage as they can agree a pre-contract agreement with the 25-year-old from February, perhaps the opportunity to remain in the Premier League will appeal to the player.
