Report: AC Milan considering a move for out-of-favour Spurs man in January

According to The Sun, Davinson Sanchez has emerged as a potential target for AC Milan in January, after the defender has seemingly fallen out of favour at Tottenham over recent months.

The Colombian has not started a Premier League game for Spurs since their 3-3 draw against West Ham back in October, failing to even make the bench in five of the last six league matches (transfermarkt.com).

Spurs have had an excellent defensive record over recent weeks in the 24-year-old’s absence, with Eric Dier and Toby Alderweireld building a solid partnership at the back.

Meanwhile, summer signing Joe Rodon looks to have moved ahead of the former Ajax man in the pecking order with the 23-year-old starting the recent match against Chelsea when Alderweireld was out injured.

The Sun reveal that Milan are looking to bolster their defence to aid them in their title bid this season and have identified Sanchez as one potential option.

The report claims that while Spurs are ready to listen to offers for the centre-back, the North Londoners will be looking to recoup the £42m they paid for him back in 2017.

It is suggested that the sale of Sanchez could help Tottenham to fund a move for Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar in next month’s transfer window.
