Report: AC Milan player returns from ‘flu attack’ in time for Tottenham game

Sky Sports have revealed that Olivier Giroud and Brahim Diaz both trained with AC Milan this morning and will be available for the game against Tottenham.

Gazzetta Dello Sport previously reported that Olivier Giroud could miss the clash against Tottenham on Wednesday as he was down with the flu.

The second leg of the Champions League semifinal on Wednesday is extremely crucial for Spurs in more ways than one, with The Times reporting on Monday that elimination from the tournament will increase the chances of Antonio Conte parting ways with the club.

The Lilywhites will have to turn around a 1-0 deficit from the first leg at the San Siro and they have now received a potential boost as Gazzetta have reported that Milan could be without a key player in the form of Giroud.

The Gazzetta report revealed that Giroud, who played all 90 minutes in the first leg, started feeling sick on Sunday and didn’t even show up at the training centre on Monday.

But Sky Sports confirm he will be able to take part in the squad.

Giroud’s absence would be a big boost for Spurs, particularly with Eric Dier suspended as the Milan striker would enjoy the prospect of contesting physical duals with Clement Lenglet.

Our form at home over recent weeks has been excellent. So, I remain confident that we can progress, even though the players’ confidence would have taken a hit after back-to-back losses against Sheffield United and Wolves.
