Report: AC Milan could make late move for Tottenham player – Not Tanganga

Calciomercato.it have claimed that AC Milan hold an interest in Tottenham centre-back Davinson Sanchez.

Sanchez played in every single one of Tottenham’s pre-season friendlies over the summer but the Colombian was an unused substitute in the club’s 4-1 win over Southampton in their Premier League season-opener on Sunday.

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold reported earlier this summer that Spurs would be open to cashing in on the former Ajax man if a suitable offer arrives. However, over recent weeks, it has emerged that Japhet Tanganga is the most likely defender to follow Joe Rodon out of the door this summer (GiveMeSport).

Calciomercato.it have now claimed that Milan first expressed an interest in Sanchez two years ago and the Rossoneri could reignite their pursuit of the centre-back this summer.

The report asserts that the 26-year-old is open to leaving Tottenham since he is not in Antonio Conte’s plans and the Spurs head coach has given the green light for the defender to be sold.

It is explained that Stefano Pioli’s side could make a loan offer for Sanchez with an option to buy late in the transfer window if they are unsuccessful in pursuit of their other centre-back targets.

I can see Spurs potentially deciding to sell Sanchez and hold on to Tanganga if they receive a decent offer for the Colombian before the window closes. However, it is unlikely that the club will let both players leave without signing another centre-back.
