Report: AC Milan enquire about another centre-back despite Tanganga links

The Daily Mail have claimed that AC Milan are also eyeing Manchester United centre-back, Eric Bailly, this summer – amidst links with Tottenham’s Japhet Tanganga. It is unclear whether this would be an alternative or extra addition.

Spurs are expected to find exits for both Tanganga and Joe Rodon while signing another centre-back before the transfer window closes, if reports over recent weeks are to be believed (talkSPORT).

Over the last week or so, Milan have emerged as the clear front-runner for Tanganga’s signature, while Rodon is expected to complete his Rennes move this weekend (Fabrizio Romano).

CalcioMercatoWeb.it reported recently that Fabio Paratici is set to meet with the Serie A club’s hierarchy for the second time next week to negotiate a deal for the 23-year-old, with Tottenham open to the idea of a loan with an option to buy for €25m (£21.2m).

However, The Mail have now revealed that Milan are also eyeing Bailly as a potential option to strengthen their central defence.

The Rossoneri and AS Roma have both reportedly enquired about the Ivory Coast international, who allegedly wants to stay at Old Trafford and fight for his place.

However, the report explains that the Red Devils are open to cashing in on Bailly after spending £46m to sign Lisandro Martinez from Ajax.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Rodon now seems to be on the verge of joining Rennes, Tanganga’s future still appears to be unresolved. The fact that the centre-back has travelled to Israel with the Spurs squad suggests that the negotiations between Milan and Tottenham for the 23-year-old have not progressed.
