According to a report in Gazzetta dello Sport  (as relayed by Milan Reports), AC Milan are now in talks with Stuttgart over a deal to sign rumoured Tottenham target Serhou Guirassy.

Guirassy has been one of the most prolific marksmen in Europe over the last 12 months and unsurprisingly, the forward is one of the most sought-after players across the continent this summer due to his low release clause.

A couple of days ago, GiveMeSport stated that Tottenham are considering upping the anti to sign the 28-year-old after Ange Postescoglou gave the club the green light to do so.

It was explained that Spurs are particularly attracted to the Stuttgart star due to his £15m release clause, with the other strikers on their radar costing twice as much.

However, Fabrizio Romano told Daily Briefing on Tuesday that Borussia Dortmund had already begun talks with Guirassy’s entourage over a potential switch across Germany.

Gazzetta have now revealed that Milan have now stepped up their pursuit of Guirassy, having identified him as the ideal option to bolster their forward line.

The report says that representatives from Stuttgart have travelled to Italy to hold conversations with the Serie A side regarding the Guinea international’s potential switch to the San Siro.

While the striker’s release clause is clearly specified, the two clubs are thought to be holding discussions about the various conditions, including the methods and instalments.

However, the publication adds that Rossoneri might face some issues as Premier League sides would be able to offer Guirassy a much higher salary than they can.

The Guirassy transfer saga will likely have plenty more twists and turns over the coming weeks as a whole host of clubs around Europe will be keen on landing the centre-forward, given his goalscoring exploits and his modest release clause.
