Report: AC Milan preparing move for Tottenham ace

Fernando Llorente has had a difficult couple of years at Spurs, having to play second fiddle to Harry Kane and finding himself on the bench for most games.

However, the Spaniard has stepped up to the plate and delivered in the absence of Kane this season.

The England captain suffered two ankle injuries over the past year, first against Manchester United in January, then against Manchester City in April, both of which saw him miss out on several games.

Llorente’s performances have been particularly crucial in Tottenham’s progression to the Champions League final with the striker getting the all-important equalizer against Man City, and having a hand in Moura’s late winner against Ajax.

However, despite his important cameos this season, reports suggest that the 34-year-old will leave Tottenham after the final as the Lilywhites have missed the deadline to extend his contract (Daily Mail).

Now, a report in Football Insider suggests that AC Milan are interested in signing the former Spain international. The report claims that the Italian giants wish to bolster their attack this season and have identified the Tottenham striker as one of their targets.

The report also claims that Roma will challenge Milan for the former Juventus-striker.

Llorente has more than proved his worth season with his performances in the Champions League and most Spurs fans will always be grateful to the Spaniard for his contribution.

However, we at Spurs Web believe that Tottenham need to get a younger, up and coming striker to play second fiddle to Kane.
