Report: AC Milan set to launch opening offer for Spurs-linked attacker

According to a report in Gazzetta dello Sport, AC Milan are ready to launch an offer for rumoured Tottenham target Hakim Ziyech.

Ziyech has struggled for game time at Chelsea this season, both under Thomas Tuchel or Graham Potter, with the winger having made a total of just five Premier League appearances in the first part of 2022-23 (Transfermarkt).

However, he has had a superb World Cup so far, having registered two goal contributions in four games for Morocco, who have been the surprise package of the tournament so far.

Tottenham’s interest in the former Ajax man first came to light back in September, with Todo Fichajes reporting at the time that the North London club are ready to offer £20m for the winger in January.

CalcioMercato then revealed last month that Ziyech was also of interest to AC Milan and suggested that the Chelsea star is in favour of a switch to the San Siro.

If Gazzetta’s latest update is to be believed, the Rossoneri remain keen on winning the race for the 29-year-old and are ready to submit their opening bid.

It is alleged that Stefano Pioli’s men will soon launch a loan offer for Ziyech with an option to make the deal permanent for €15m (£12.9m) next summer.

Spurs will be in the market for a right winger who can cover for Kulusevski in January as Gil is likely to be loaned out. While Ziyech would fit the bill, the Moroccan is likely to favour a move to a club where he would be guaranteed regular game time, especially after his frustrations at Chelsea over the last 12 months.
