Report: Adama Traore development could occur in next 24 hours

The Daily Star have claimed that Wolves could give the green light for Adama Traore to join Tottenham Hotspur in the next 24 hours after they completed the signing of Portuguese winger Chiquinho.

Traore is reported to be Tottenham’s number one target for the right wing-back role, with Antonio Conte said to unconvinced that Emerson Royal fits the bill (The Times).

90min initially claimed two weeks ago that Wolves were open to selling the pacey winger and that the 25-year-old was keen on a move to Spurs.

However, in recent days, some sources have alleged that the Spaniard is not close to leaving the Molineux Stadium (Duncan Castles / Transfer Window Podcast).

Sport have even suggested that Traore wishes to remain at Wolves for the rest of the season and instead join Barcelona in the summer.

The Daily Star have claimed that the situation surrounding Traore’s future may have changed after Wolves completed the signing of Chiquinho from Estoril in a £3m deal on Monday.

The report claims that Bruno Lage could now give the green light for Traore to be sold to Spurs, having secured his replacement.

It is said that Tottenham want to sign the winger on an initial loan deal, however, the Black Country club are adamant that is not an option.

Spurs Web Opinion

Given that Spurs have not really been linked with any other right wing-backs this window, it is likely that Traore remains the club’s number one target. Despite the contradictory reports over recent days, I expect this move to accelerate over the coming days.
