Report: Agent of alleged Spurs target ‘working’ to find his client a new club

Italian publication Il Messaggero has revealed that the agent of rumoured Tottenham target Jordan Veretout is working to find the midfielder a new club.

The print edition of Tuttosport (as relayed by Sport Witness) were the first to report on Wednesday that Spurs were interested in signing Veretout.

This information was later backed up by CalcioMercato, who claimed AS Roma were open to cashing in on the French international as the Serie A club needed to raise funds to pursue their own transfer targets.

Il Messaggero have now stated that Jose Mourinho does not see Veretout as a leader inside the Roma dressing room.

As the midfielder’s performance levels have dropped over recent weeks, it is alleged that the former Spurs boss is willing to let the player leave the Stadio Olimpico.

Tottenham are named as one of the clubs interested in Veretout while it is also revealed that Napoli were previously keen on signing the former Aston Villa man.

It is asserted that Veretout’s agent is now trying to find his client a new club this month.

Spurs Web Opinion

I would be extremely surprised if Tottenham completed a deal for Veretout this month. The Frenchman is not the profile of midfielder Spurs need. I also do not think the 28-year-old would be an upgrade on any of Skipp, Hojbjerg and Winks.
