Report: Agent of rumoured Spurs target set to travel to Milan for talks

According to Calciomercato, the agent of rumoured Tottenham target, Miralem Pjanic will be travelling to Italy in the coming days to work on a transfer deal to take his client back to Serie A.

Pjanic endured a season to forget after moving to Camp Nou 12 months ago and is now considered surplus to requirements at Barcelona.

It was first reported at the start of July that Tottenham’s managing director of football, Fabio Paratici had approached Barcelona about signing the midfielder on loan.

Reports from Spain have since suggested that Chelsea and Arsenal could also challenge for Pjanic’s signature this summer, with the player’s agent ‘working against the clock’ to find a new club for his client.

CalcioMercato have now claimed that Pjanic would prefer to return to Serie A this summer, with Massimiliano Allegri keen on bringing the midfielder back to Juventus.

The report adds that Inter Milan have also shown interest in the 31-year-old and that his agent, Fali Ramadani will fly to Milan to sort out a transfer.

Spurs Web Opinion

I suspect the main reason Tottenham’s name was thrown in the mix for Pjanic was because of the Paratici connection. The Bosnian does not really fit the profile of players Spurs usually go for due to his age and potential lack of resale value. However, having said that, there are not too many downsides to signing the experienced midfielder on loan.
