Report: Agent of Spurs target set to meet with club to discuss contract and potential transfer

Mattias Svanberg’s agent is set to meet with Bologna over the coming days to discuss a new contract or a potential transfer amidst Tottenham’s interest in the midfielder, CalcioMercato have now claimed.

Inews reported last month that Svanberg is a January target for Spurs, with the club’s managing director of football, Fabio Paratici, having previously tried to take him to Juventus.

CalcioMercato have now revealed that Tottenham and Manchester City have both enquired about the central midfielder, while Inter Milan have also expressed interest in signing the player.

The report claims that Sweden international’s agent Martin Dahlin is set to arrive in Italy to discuss the player’s future.

Bologna are expected to offer Svanberg a two-year contract extension with the promise of selling him in the summer.

Should the 23-year-old does not agree to a new deal, it is explained that he could be sold by the Serie A club this month.

Some reliable sources (including Alasdair Gold and Dan Kilpatrick) have reported that a central midfielder is not one of Conte’s priorities in January. So, even if Paratici has enquired about Svanberg, it would likely be with a view to signing him in the summer.
