Report: Agent set to travel to Europe after Spurs make ‘important offer’

According to Mexican outlet Vamos Cruz Azul, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal have both submitted offers to sign Santiago Gimenez ahead of the summer transfer window.

Gimenez has been one of the most prolific strikers in Europe over the past two seasons, boasting of an outstanding goalscoring record at Feyenoord, with the centre-forward even breaking the Eredivisie record set by Luis Suarez for the most goals in a calendar year in 2023 (AS).

Over the last few weeks, various outlets have continued to suggest that Spurs are plotting a move for the 23-year-old this summer (Corriere dello Sport via Sport Witness).

A couple of days ago, Journalist Rudy Galetti claimed that Tottenham could face competition for the striker’s signature from their North London rivals, Arsenal, who had also allegedly identified the Feyenoord striker as a key target.

Arsenal and Spurs bid for Santiago Gimenez

Vamos Cruz Azul have now provided an update on the Gimmenez’s future, naming the Lilywhites and the Gunners as the clubs who have ‘shown more interest’ in the player.

In fact, it is asserted that both Ange Postecoglou’s side and Mikel Arterta’s men have submitted ‘very important offers’ for the Mexican international.

The report adds that the striker’s father, who is also his agent, will make the trip to Europe over the ‘coming days’ to learn more about these offers.

Arsenal will Gimenez Champions League football and potentially a chance to compete for major honours. However, I would not put it beyond Postecoglou to be able to convince the 23-year-old of Tottenham’s ambition and his fit to the club’s system.
