Report: Agreement reached involving Tottenham’s Argentina duo

TyC Sports have reported that Tottenham Hotspur duo, Giovani Lo Celso and Cristian Romero, will be able to fly directly back to the UK following their international duty with Argentina next month after an agreement was reached.

During the last international break, the Argentine duo were at the centre of a controversial match against Brazil, with health authorities shutting the game down as Lo Celso and Romero allegedly entered the country without quarantining.

The Spurs pair were subsequently flown to Croatia where they took part in a 10-day training camp rather than fly straight back to the UK and have to quarantine on their own for over a week.

This time, TyC Sports claim the players will be able to fly straight to the UK and quarantine for just five days, although they will be able to train on their own during this time to keep fit. This should bring ‘peace of mind to the clubs’ like Tottenham.

Spurs Web Opinion:

This sounds a lot better than last time, although it is still far from ideal. Cristian Romero’s first few months at Tottenham are going to be extremely unsettled, when we really needed him to slot straight into the back line week in, week out.
