Report: Ajax winger high on Tottenham’s wish-list for Eriksen replacement

Tottenham Hotspur look set to lose Christian Eriksen in the next year as the Great Dane’s contract slowly ticks towards an end in the summer.

Eriksen openly admitted after the Champions League Final defeat in the summer that he was now ready to move on from Spurs in search of a step up and a new challenge (Ekstra Bladet).

The midfield man will be able to talk to any non-English side as soon as January comes around, with the potential of a pre-contract agreement.

This would leave Pochettino without the man who has been his chief playmaker since taking over at Spurs over five years ago.

With big shoes to fill, 90Mins report that Tottenham may look towards Ajax again, just as they did with Eriksen, Vertonghen, and Sanchez.

The report states that Hakim Ziyech is high on Tottenham’s wishlist in terms of an Eriksen replacement. Ziyech has already scored six and assisted 15 in 21 games for Ajax this season (Transfer Markt).
