Report: Alasdair Gold reveals how much Inter Milan may charge for Bastoni

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that Inter Milan could demand more than £50m for Tottenham target Alessandro Bastoni this summer.

According to previous reports, Spurs are expected to prioritise signing a left-sided centre-back this summer, with Bastoni said to be one of the names on the North London club’s wishlist (The Athletic).

The 23-year-old admitted last month that he owes a lot of his development to the two seasons he had under Antonio Conte at Inter. (Football Italia).

Manchester City have also been credited with an interest in the Italy international ahead of the summer transfer window (Calciomercato.it).

Gold has now revealed that Tottenham’s managing director of football Fabio Paratici is a ‘big admirer’ of Bastoni. The journalist states that Spurs consider the Inter star to be a perfect fit for the left centre-back role.

However, he adds that despite Bastoni having just two years left to run on his contract at the San Siro, the Nerazzurri could demand more than £50m for the defender.

I suspect Bastoni would be Tottenham’s first-choice option for the left centre-back role ahead of the likes of Pau Torres, Josko Gvardiol and Clement Lenglet, given his age and the fact that he is well-versed with Conte’s system.

However, the Italian is also likely to be the most expensive of the options we have been linked with and is likely to be on the radar of many top clubs around Europe. I would be surprised if we end up getting him as Spurs do not tend to get involved in bidding wars.
