Report: Albert Gudmundsson says yes to move as Tottenham circle

In what comes as a potential blow to Tottenham in their pursuit of Albert Gudmundsson, Gazzetta dello Sport (as relayed by TMW) have reported that the Genoa star has given the green light to join Inter Milan.

A whole host of sources over the last month have claimed that Gudmundsson has emerged as a target for Tottenham as the attacking midfielder continues to impress at Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

The latest such update came from the reliable Alasdair Gold, who revealed on Sunday that Spurs have shown ‘considerable interest’ in the 26-year-old (Football.London).

Gudmundsson wants to join Inter Milan

However, Gazzetta have now claimed that the Iceland international has now given his approval to join Inter after the Nerazzuri made an early move for him.

It is alleged that even though Tottenham and ‘at least one other Premier League club’ are circling over Gudmundsson, the midfielder prefers to remain in Italy.

The report adds that Genoa value the player at €30m (£25.7m) and that Inter are hoping to agree on an initial loan deal for the player with an obligation to buy.

There is no doubt that Tottenham would be able to blow Inter out of the water financially and the North London club also have a good working relationship with Genoa.

However, if Gudmundsson wants to remain in Serie A, that could prove quite significant and give the likes of Inter a huge advantage.
