90 Mins have reported that Alessandro Bastoni has now informed Inter Milan that he wants to join Tottenham this summer and reunite with Antonio Conte.
It was Conte who put faith in the young central defender during his time at Inter, trusting him with a role in the first team during the club’s march to the Serie A title in 2020/21.
Bastoni has already been named as Tottenham’s top centre-back target for the summer as Conte looks to strengthen his back line in North London (Football.London’s Alasdair Gold).
The Evening Standard reported recently that Inter may have to sell Bastoni in order to fund a move for Gleison Bremer, with Football Transfers claiming that deal is now close.
However, The Evening Standard also reported that Bastoni was keen on remaining in Italy with Inter rather than swapping Milan for N17 this summer.
90 Mins have now countered those claims, stating that Bastoni has informed Inter of his desire to join Spurs, with the Italian club now reluctantly opening talks with Fabio Paratici and co.

The facts don’t seem to add up with all these reports, as they rarely do. Either Bastoni wants to stay at Inter or he wants to join Spurs. Either they want to sell at the right price, or they are reluctant to sell at all. I think we will know more in the coming days.
