Report: Algorithm used to predict where Spurs and Arsenal will finish next season

The 2019/20 campaign has been one to forget for Tottenham fans with the club parting ways with their most successful manager in recent history and finishing outside the top four for the first time in five years.

Jose Mourinho’s men did well to finish the season strong and leapfrog Wolves into sixth place, but they will be hoping to fare much better next season.

However, according to the predictions of Sporting Index (as relayed by Football.London), Tottenham are likely to end up sixth again next campaign.

The algorithm has backed Manchester City to edge out Liverpool out in the title race next season with Manchester United and Chelsea rounding off the top four.

Surprisingly, Arsenal have been backed to finish a point above Tottenham in fifth, which will make it the first time in five years that the Lilywhites would be leapfrogged by their North London rivals.

So overall, the algorithm predicts that Spurs will have the same struggles as they did last season, although that could change depending on the club’s transfer business this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

I believe none of the other teams, including us, are ready to compete with Man City and Liverpool and I once again see the title race being played out amongst those two. However, beyond that, I believe we have as good a chance as anyone of finishing third. I believe Jose’s vast experience, when compared to the likes of Solskjaer, Lampard and Arteta, gives us an advantage.
