Report: All the details behind Tottenham’s Kulusevski contract clauses

Tottenham Hotspur left their transfer dealings very late in the January transfer window having waited to get some existing players out the door before Fabio Paratici returned to Juventus to land Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur.

The pair have enjoyed an impressive start to life in north London with each holding down a regular place in Antonio Conte’s starting eleven.

Kulusevski has slotted into a front three alongside Harry Kane and Heung-min Son at the expense of Lucas Moura, who has had to do with a place on the bench after recovering from injury.

While Bentancur arrived on a permanent deal from Juventus, Kulusevski’s agreement was structured somewhat differently.

The Swedish international made the switch to the Premier League outfit from Juventus on loan until the 30th of June 2023 which will see Spurs pay a €10million (£8.3million) fee. €3million (£2.5million) of which is for the current season, and a further €7million (£5.8milion) for the next campaign.

The Guardian have revealed that Spurs have the option to make the move permanent for €30million (£24.9million) at the end of the season, unless a second clause inserted into the agreement triggers a mandatory €35million (£29.1million) deal at the end of the 2022/23 campaign if the club qualifies for the Champions League or he features in 50% of their Premier League fixtures for at least 45 minutes.
