Report: All the latest on Spurs ‘bidding war’ with Atletico for Vlahovic

The latest reports from Italy suggest that Tottenham Hotspur have stepped up their interest in Dusan Vlahovic and are locked in a battle with Atletico Madrid for the Fiorentina star.

It is no secret that Vlahovic is on Fabio Paratici’s shopping list, with the Serbian being heavily linked with a move to Spurs over the last couple of months.

Sky Sport Italia have now suggested (as relayed by Football Italia) that the 21-year-old is a target for Spurs irrespective of whether Harry Kane stays or leaves.

The North London club are said to have increased their offer for Vlahovic to €60m (£51m) including bonuses, sparking a bidding war with Atletico Madrid.

The report alleges that Atletico’s proposal for the striker is worth €50m (£42.5m) plus bonuses.

Gianluca Di Marzio has also reported on Atletico’s interest in Vlahovic and he suggests that the Spanish club have increased their bid to €60m (£51m) including add ons.

He claims that Diego Simeone’s men are also willing to include young Argentine defender Nehuen Perez as a part of the deal.

Di Marzio adds that the ball is now in Fiorentina’s court, with the Serie A club likely to decide whether to accept the offer within the next few days.

Fabrizio Romano has also backed up that Tottenham and Atletico are going head to head for the striker.

The journalist claims that Spurs are ‘strongly interested’ in the Viola star but have not entered into advanced negotiations for him.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is pretty clear that Vlahovic has always been a target for Paratici irrespective of what happens regarding Harry Kane.

I suspect that our rumoured approach for Lautaro Martinez, however, is clearly driven by the possibility of the England captain’s exit.

We saw with the Romero deal that Paratici does not mind spending a little over the market if his number one target becomes available and the same might well be the case with Vlahovic.
