Report: All you need to know about the FA Cup quarterfinal draw as Spurs bid to be included

Tottenham’s FA Cup fifth-round tie against Norwich this evening has taken even more importance due to the team’s poor results over the last few weeks.

The Lilywhites have lost their last three games across all competitions coming into the match against the Canaries and the FA Cup represents arguably the only realistic chance for the club to land some silverware this season.

Jose Mourinho reiterated his desire to win a trophy with Tottenham in his pre-match press conference ahead of the game (Football.London) and victory this evening would take the side into the last eight of the competition.

Replays have been scrapped in the fifth round due to a congested schedule, so we could have extra time and penalties this evening if the game ends with the scores still level.

The draw for the quarterfinals will be held at 9.50 pm this evening (inews) and so Spurs will learn their opponents immediately after the game should they progress to the next round.

The draw, which will take place at Hillsborough, will be live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

Here are the ball numbers heading into the draw:

1: Sheffield Wednesday or Manchester City

2: Sheffield United

3: Chelsea

4: Newcastle United

5: Leicester City or Birmingham City

6: Derby County or Manchester United

7: Tottenham Hotspur or Norwich City

8: Arsenal

Spurs Web Opinion

With Leicester, Manchester City and Manchester United favourites to progress this evening, it looks like it will be an all-Premier League line up in the final eight. Given the teams still left in the competition, no tie will be easy but let’s hope that we are at home in the quarterfinals rather than away.
