Report: Alleged Spurs target has price slashed to just £6m ahead of January

According to a report in Sport Bild, Borussia Monchengladbach are willing to sell Tottenham target Marcus Thuram for just €7m (£6m) in January.

Thuram, who has found the back of the net on 13 occasions for Gladbach this season, will be a free agent next summer (Transfermarkt), and the forward’s future has been the subject of a lot of speculation over recent weeks.

Gazzetta (17/11/22 via Sport Witness) reported last month that Tottenham and Arsenal are ‘working on the operation’ to sign the winger while the likes of Bayern Munich, Juventus, Inter Milan and Marseille are also in the mix for the 25-year-old’s signature.

Over the last week, Newcastle United have also been backed to make a move for the Gladbach star (The Sun), with the attacker thought to have been offered to the Magpies (GiveMeSport).

Nicolo Schira claimed two weeks ago that Daniel Farke’s men would consider selling Thuram for just €10m (£8.6m) in January, due to his contract situation.

However, Bild have now suggested that the German club would be willing to let the France international leave for just £6m.

It is explained that Gladbach have now conceded that Thuram is likely to leave in January, with numerous Premier League and Bundesliga sides allegedly chasing the player.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is easy to see why so many clubs are after Thuram as you do not often get a chance to sign a player of the Frenchman’s quality for such a low price. However, I do not think the 25-year-old will be particularly keen on a move to Spurs, given the other big-name attacking options already at the club.
