Report: Alleged Spurs target undergoes surgery ahead of likely summer transfer

L’Equipe have claimed that rumoured Tottenham target Leandro Paredes has undergone surgery now in order to avoid jeopardising a potential summer transfer.

Tottenham reportedly tried to sign Parades during the January transfer windows but it was claimed at the time that the Argentine was not interested in making the move (The Athletic).

The 27-year-old is expected to be offloaded by PSG in the summer, with Calciomercato.it revealing recently that both Spurs and Inter Milan were on the player’s trail.

The report added that Antonio Conte would like to work with the midfielder, who is valued by the Ligue 1 giants at around €25m (£20.7m).

L’Equipe have now stated that PSG are indeed planning on cashing in on Parades when the transfer window opens.

It is explained that the former Roma man had suffered from pubalgia and PSG wanted to get the surgery out of the way so that a summer move would not be jeopardised.

With the surgery now successfully completed, it is said that Paredes can now focus on rehabilitation and then potentially prepare himself for a transfer.

Spurs Web Opinion

Parades might be a name that excites Spurs fans but neither did Bentancur and he turned out to be exactly what we needed in the middle of the park. Just like the Uruguayan, I believe the PSG star could be a good fit for Conte’s system and I will certainly take him as a potential replacement for Winks.
