Report: Alleged Tottenham transfer target could join Pochettino at Chelsea

Gazzetta dello Sport have claimed that Chelsea could now accelerate a move for Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana, who is also rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar.

Onana has enjoyed a solid first season at Inter since joining the club last summer but some publications are now talking up the chances of the goalkeeper leaving the San Siro this summer, just one year on from his arrival.

90 min reported last month that the Cameroonian is one of the names on Tottenham’s wishlist to replace Hugo Lloris, with the report adding that Inter are open to cashing on their number one since they need to raise funds through player sales to balance their books.

Gazzetta have now suggested that Chelsea might be the first ones to make a move for Onana, with the Blues said to have a good relationship with Inter.

The report adds that the Premier League giants have already sent scouts to watch the former Ajax man in action this season.

It is alleged that the West London club have taken ‘decisive steps’ towards Onana and their decision to pursue the Inter star will not change despite Mauricio Pochettino’s impending arrival.

Gazzetta add that the Nerazzurri value the 27-year-old at €40m (£35.3m), with Chelsea willing to include Kepa Arrizabalaga as a part of the deal.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham’s transfer list might have been entirely ripped up over the last few days in light of Fabio Paratici’s exit.

It is anyone’s guess at the moment who the club’s top goalkeeper targets are this summer.

I suspect that the decision would not be made until the club hire a new head coach or director of football.
