Tottenham Hotspur playmaker, Christian Eriksen, finally addressed social media rumours this week as he categorically denied an affair between his partner and teammate Jan Vertonghen (Daily Mail).
The tweet quoted by Eriksen claimed that half the players within the Spurs camp are not talking to each other and Poch is not able to resolve the feud.
The original tweet also included an image of Vertonghen with a black eye that he sustained earlier in the season.
However, in an eye-ronic twist, an agent has now reportedly revealed to the Sun that Eriksen did, in fact, give Vertonghen the shiner.
The injury was apparently an accidental training ground collision between the two stars, with Vertonghen coming out of it looking a lot worse.
The same agent claimed that the two players have been widely aware of the rumours on social media, with it being a difficult time for them.
The agent said: “It has been very difficult for both players.

“They have been widely aware of the internet rumours of the supposed affair.
“The irony is Vertonghen’s black eye was caused by Christian Eriksen.”
Spurs will now be looking to get back to winning ways away to Brighton this weekend.
