Report: Ancelotti has asked Real Madrid hierarchy to sign Tottenham star

Defensa Central have claimed that Carlo Ancelotti has personally recommended to the Real Madrid hierarchy that they should sign Richarlison from Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Richarlison has not had the expected impact since his £60m switch to Spurs last summer, with the striker having found the back of the net just three times across all competitions in a frustrating, injury-hit campaign.

It has now been suggested by Defensa Central that despite the Brazilian’s struggles at Spurs, he has emerged as a target for Real Madrid.

The report reveals that Los Blancos are prioritising signing another striker in the summer who can partner Karim Benzema if required, or lead the line himself.

Ancelotti has allegedly told club president Florentino Perez to pursue Richarlison, with the Italian being a fan of the forward since working with him at Goodison Park.

The experienced manager is thought to have told Perez that despite the poor year that the 25-year-old has had at Spurs, he remains a ‘great player’ who would be a useful option since he can also operate out wide.

Spurs Web Opinion

Despite the poor season Richarlison has had, I do not think there is any chance that Tottenham would consider letting him go this summer.

In fact, I have no doubts that both the Brazilian and Yves Bissouma will succeed at North London since both players have shown what they can do in the Premier League over the years.
