Report: Andre Gomes update – Positive news for the Everton man

Everton have reported that Andre Gomes is expected to make a full recovery after undergoing surgery on his ankle. This came after the midfielder suffered a fracture-dislocation against Tottenham yesterday evening.

Everton claimed that the surgery went ‘very well’ and that they expect the player to make a full recovery after such a horrific injury.

The ankle break came as a result of Heung Min Son’s challenge on Gomes in the second half when Tottenham were 1-0 up against the Toffees.

A combination of Son’s challenge, Gomes catching his foot on the turf, and Aurier’s late tackle led to the injury.

Gomes will now recover in hosptial before starting his rehabilitation at Everton. While this will be music to Everton fans’ ears, it will also help Heung Min Son move past his role in the incident.

The last thing the Korean would have wanted was for the challenge to end Gomes’ career.
