Calicomercato.it claim that Juventus now have Tottenham defender Eric Dier in their sights.

Two weeks ago, The Daily Mirror reported that Daniel Levy plans to command a fee for Dier in January rather than letting him run his contract down and depart as a free agent next summer.

The outlet suggested that Sporting Lisbon and AS Roma had both expressed an interest in the 29-year-old’s services in January.

A few days ago, Football Insider reported that Bayern Munich were also eyeing a move for Dier, with the Tottenham man alleged to be open to reuniting with Harry Kane at Bavaria.

Juventus enter the race for Tottenham’s Eric Dier

Calciomercato.it have now stated that Roma are not the only Italian side after the centre-back, with Juve ready to challenge Jose Mourinho’s men for the England international.

The report asserts that Dier would be the ‘perfect’ profile for Bianconeri, given his versatility and experience, with Massimiliano Allegri in need of cover both in defence and midfield.

However, the publication makes it clear that Juve view the Spurs star as a target for next summer rather than January.

Spurs Web Opinion

I believe that Dier would prefer to leave as a free agent next summer, particularly given that he is likely to get plenty of game time over the coming weeks after Van de Ven’s injury.

There is no doubt that many clubs around Europe would be interested in singing a player of the 29-year-old’s experience on a free transfer.
