Report: Another PL club have now made contact with Spurs-linked Arne Slot

According to De Telegraaf, Crystal Palace have now reached out to Feyenoord head coach Arne Slot about taking over at the club in the summer.

Slot’s reputation has blossomed since he took over at Rotterdam in 2021, with the club finishing runners-up in the Europa Conference League last season and they are now just one step away from being crowned Eredivisie champions.

The speculation linking the Dutchman with a move to Spurs shows no signs of dissipating, with ESPN claiming on Wednesday that he has emerged as a leading contender for the job alongside Julian Nagelsmann.

However, if De Telegraaf’s latest update is to be believed, it is Palace who have now made the first move for Slot, with the Eagles said to be in talks with his agent, Rafaala Pimenta.

The publication explains that the negotiations between the two parties are still at a preliminary stage and have not led to any agreement for the time being.

It is suggested that Slot is convinced he can implement his trademark attacking style of play at any Premier League club.

However, Feyenoord are expected to fight to hold on to the 44-year-old, with the Eredivisie club willing to increase his wages to fend off interest from England.

Spurs Web Opinion

There would always be an element of risk associated with going after candidates like Slot and Kompany, who are not proven at the highest level.

I find it difficult to understand why Roberto De Zerbi is seemingly not being considered by Spurs.

Even though the Italian had a solid base to build on at Brighton, his work at the Amex Stadium has been very impressive.
