Report: Antonio Conte a ‘fan’ of Spanish international who was linked with summer move

According to The Telegraph’s Matt Law, Antonio Conte is a fan of Wolves winger Adama Traore.

Traore has tormented Premier League defences with his pace and dribbling ability for a long time but the winger has not been able to put up anywhere close to the same numbers as the best frontmen in the division.

Tottenham were heavily linked with a move for the 25-year-old towards the end of the summer transfer window, with reports claiming at the time that the club’s offer for the winger was turned down by Wolves.

It was claimed at the time that the Spanish international was keen on reuniting with Nuno Espirito Santo at Tottenham but he ended up staying put at Molineux.

He certainly has not set the league alight this season, with the pacy wide man failing to register a single goal or assist so far this campaign in all competitions.

However, The Telegraph have claimed that just like his predecessor, Conte is a fan of Traore.

The report reveals that Spurs only made a loan offer for the winger in the summer but suggests that Conte could push the club to make a more serious attempt for the player in January.

Traore seems to split opinion among Spurs fans and those who are sceptical about him seem to be concerned about his lack of end product. However, we have already seen under Conte that players can improve with the right coaching.

Even if Traore does not get lots of goals and assists, his ability to run with the ball will certainly help push the team up the pitch. He would also be a formidable impact substitute to bring on against tired legs. So, I am certainly in favour of signing the 25-year-old.
