Report: Antonio Conte does not plan to leave Tottenham – ‘Rallying call’

TalkSPORT have reported that Antonio Conte does not plan on leaving Tottenham Hotspur despite his comments to the press last night.

Spurs fell to their fourth defeat in five games against Burnley at Turf Moor, despite the brief respite of beating the Premier League holders Man City at the Etihad.

TalkSPORT claim that sources have informed them Conte’s comments were designed to be a rallying call to his players rather than a letter of resignation.

This comes after The Sun reported that Daniel Levy would hold ‘crisis talks’ with the Italian boss today at Hotspur Way and would attempt to convince him to stay in North London.

In his post-match press conference last night, Conte appeared to question whether he was the right man to carry Spurs forward, claiming that he was attempting to turn things around but it was not working (Football.London).

However, if TalkSPORT are to be believed, Conte will be not be leaving Spurs at this time.

Spurs Web Opinion:

I think people misread Conte’s quotes as a desire to leave. I think it was more an honest message to the board and the players that things will never change unless they allow him to make the changes.
