Report: Antonio Conte has personally informed Tottenham star that he can leave

Argentinian publication TNT Sports have now reported that Giovani Lo Celso has been told he can leave Tottenham Hotspur permanently this summer.

After struggling for game time under Antonio Conte since the Italian arrived at Spurs in November, Lo Celso has rediscovered his form since his loan move to Villarreal.

The 26-year-old has quickly established himself as one of the Unai Emery’s most important players and reports have indicated that Spurs could use the midfielder as a makeweight in a potential deal to sign Pau Torres this summer (Football Insider).

Estadio Deportivo reported earlier this month that while Antonio Conte believes Lo Celso has a lot of talent, he does not think Argentine is suited to the intensity and physicality of the Premier League.

The report claimed the former Real Betis man also shared Conte’s view that he is better suited to La Liga than the Premier League as he feels he does not get enough protection in England.

TYT Sports have now explained that Conte has personally informed Lo Celso that he is not part of his plans at Tottenham moving forward.

The main reason Spurs loaned Lo Celso out in January is to put the midfielder in the shop window ahead of the summer. So, it is pretty clear that the Argentine will be departing.

Given how well he has done at Villarreal, the North Londoners would be hoping to get a bidding war going for the 26-year-old and potentially pocket around £30m-£35m from his sale.
