Report: Antonio Conte leaves out England international for trip to Chelsea

Tottenham Hotspur make the trip to Stamford Bridge later this afternoon to face Chelsea in the Premier League.

The Athletic‘s David Ornstein is reporting that Antonio Conte has left Dele Alli out of his match day squad.

The midfielder has been an unused substitute in Tottenham’s last two fixtures and speculation is growing that he could leave north London before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

Ornstein claims that there has not been any appealing offers received for the former MK Dons man to date and a move could go happen shortly before January 31st.

Football Insider claimed earlier this week that Newcastle United are keen to take the England international, with Spurs open to both loan and permanent offers.

Under Mauricio Pochettino, Dele was one of the first names on the Tottenham team sheet and rose to prominence under the Argentine, cementing his place as one of the best young midfield talents in the country. However, in recent seasons, his form has fallen off a cliff and has failed to make an impact under Mourinho, Nuno and Conte.
