Report: Antonio Conte’s future at Spurs looking increasingly uncertain

Antonio Conte’s position as head coach of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club looks increasingly uncertain, according to the Daily Mail.

The report claims that the prospect of the Italian departing north London at the end of the season is a possibility with concerns growing over the recent difficult run of form which has left them adrift of the top four.

Conte’s contract at Tottenham expires in the summer and while the club have the option of extending the deal by a further twelve months, there is agreement from both parties that it would be pointless to trigger the clause to extend his stay if their values are not aligned.

The Spurs hierarchy were said to be eager for Conte to have extended his contract at the end of last year, however, the urgency to do so have eased in recent weeks which has seen the side win just three of their previous nine Premier League matches.

It would be pointless to wait until the summer to drag this one out. Daniel Levy has to decide during the current transfer window if he is prepared Conte in the market to the tune of whatever the Italian desires, otherwise they are simply kicking the can down the road and risking the futures of the likes of Harry Kane.
