Report: Arnaut Danjuma emerges as a target for Tottenham’s London rivals

The Daily Mail have revealed that Crystal Palace have set their sights on Arnaut Danjuma, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Tottenham.

Danjuma joined Spurs on loan from Villarreal during the January transfer window, with the North London club having the option to make his move permanent for £27m

However, the Dutch international found opportunities hard to come by during his five-month stint at the club, making just one Premier League start, which came under Ryan Mason in the 3-1 loss to Brentford in May.

Unsurprisingly, Spurs decided against activating the option to buy Danjuma permanently, with the forward now set to return to his parent club before finding out what the future holds for him this summer.

Crystal Palace are looking at Arnaut Danjuma

The Mail have now suggested that the 26-year-old could be offered a route back to the Premier League by Palace.

The report claims that the Eagles are on the lookout for attacking reinforcements due to the uncertainty over Wilfried Zaha’s future and are eyeing Danjuma as a potential option.

However, the publication adds that Roy Hodgson’s men have also identified other alternatives to the Dutchman, including Everton’s Demarai Gray.

Danjuma never really got a fair crack of the whip at Tottenham, with Conte deciding quite early on the Dutchman is not a good fit for his system.

The 26-year-old did not disappoint when opportunities came his way and I expect him to be a success at Palace if he does make the switch to Selhurst Park this summer.
