TEAMtalk have revealed that Arsenal and Chelsea have now moved into pole position ahead of Tottenham to snap up Athletico Paranaense sensation Vitor Roque.
Roque, who broke into Paranense’s senior side last season, has started off the new season in electric form, having found the back of the net four times in six league games (Transfermarkt).
Globo Esporte reported earlier this month Spurs are one of many European clubs who have been alerted to the youngster’s potential.
Tottenham’s interest in the centre-forward has now also been backed up by TEAMtalk, who suggest that the Lilywhites, along with the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham, Aston Villa and West Ham, are all eyeing a deal for the 18-year-old.
However, the publication explains Arsenal and Chelsea have now moved ahead of the competition and that the two London clubs’ interest is now ‘far more advanced’ than that of other Premier League sides.
It is explained that Barcelona’s efforts to sign Roque have stalled due to their financial constraints, with the Gunners and the Blues both said to be intent on sealing a €40m (£35.1m) deal for the Brazilian starlet.

Based on the sheer number of European clubs who are seemingly after Roque, it appears as if most scouts expect him to be the next breakout attacker to emerge from Brazilian football.
However, there is always a big risk involved in singing players straight from South America as one can never be sure if they would be able to adapt to the Premier League.
