Report: Arsenal and Newcastle ahead of Spurs in race for 28-year-old

Calciomercato have revealed that Newcastle United and Arsenal are ahead of Tottenham Hotspur in the race for Paulo Dybala’s signature this summer.

Dybala’s current deal with Juventus runs out in the summer and Spurs have been credited with an interest in signing the Argentine international on a free transfer (Foot Mercato).

The 28-year-old is also thought to be of interest to the likes of Inter Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid (But! Football Club).

CalcioMercato have now given an update on the state of affairs as the Juve forward’s agent Jorge Antun looks for Dybala’s next club.

The report explains that Antun is continuing to speak to intermediaries but the results so far are ‘more negative than hoped’.

It is said that Inter Milan have shown interest in the 28-year-old but would have to make room in their wage bill by moving some players on before being able to offer the Juve star the terms he is demanding.

Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund are also said to have registered a ‘concrete’ interest in Dybala.

As far as the Premier League is concerned, the report states that Tottenham and Manchester United are ‘further back’ when compared to Newcastle and Arsenal in the race for the former Palermo man.

Spurs Web Opinion

The chances of Spurs signing Dybala seem pretty remote, given how well Dejan Kulusevski has done since he arrived in North London. I suspect Conte will want to sign a versatile forward like Richarlison, Depay or Martinez, who would be able to play across the front three.
