Report: Arsenal are keen to beat Tottenham to 24-year-old midfielder

HITC have revealed that Arsenal are keen to beat Tottenham Hotspur and other Premier League clubs to the signature of Real Madrid star Brahim Diaz.

Although Diaz found it difficult to get game time at the Santiago Bernabeu at the start of this season after returning from his loan spell at Milan, the 24-year-old has shown his quality since the turn of the year.

The versatile attacking midfielder, who can also play on either flank, has now clocked up 31 appearances across all competitions (most of them as a substitute), scoring eight goals and providing four assists (Transfermarkt).

Tottenham’s interest in the midfielder first came to light earlier this week when transfer expert Graeme Bailey told HITC that the Lilywhites were competing with the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea for the player’s signature.

However, Bailey insisted that the former Milan star is not particularly keen on leaving the Spanish capital at the end of the season.

Now, the same publication (HITC) have claimed that Arsenal are also showing a concrete interest in Diaz ahead of the summer window.

The report reveals that the Arsenal boss coached the midfielder during his time at Manchester City and had real admiration for the attacking midfielder.

He is now said to be driving the Gunners’ interest in the Malaga-born player, with the Spanish coach alleged to be keen on beating the likes of Spurs and Liverpool to the Real Madrid star’s signature.

I would be extremely surprised if Real Madrid considered letting Diaz go this summer, given his increasing prominence in Carlo Ancelotti’s set-up over the last few months. It is likely going to take a huge offer to convince the Los Blancos to part ways with the 24-year-old.
