Report: Arsenal are set to make offer for former Spurs man

According to a report in Corriere dello Sport (as relayed by Sport Witness), Arsenal could be about to make an offer to sign former Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen.

Inter CEO Guisseppe Marotta has confirmed that the Serie A club may look to move Eriksen on when the transfer window opens in January.

A move to Arsenal as well as a potential reunion with Mauricio Pochettino at Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly on the cards for the midfielder.

Don Balon even claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are interested in re-signing the 28-year-old, a mere eleven months after they sold him.

The report suggested that Jose Mourinho is ready to take him back and that the Dane is willing to return to his old stomping ground.

However, according to Corriere Dello Sport, Arsenal still appear to be the front-runners for Eriksen’s signature, with agents close to the Gunners hinting that a bid is on its way for the Inter star.

The report claims that Mikel Arteta’s side could offer Granit Xhaka in a swap deal to take the former Spurs man to the Emirates.

Spurs Web Opinion

I do not think there is any chance that Eriksen would return to Spurs as I do not see him as a good fit for our current set up. I also do not see the Dane destroying his Tottenham legacy by moving to Arsenal as he is well aware of the rivalry between the clubs, having won the Lilywhite shirt for six and a half years.
