Report: Arsenal confident of beating Spurs to 26-year-old Premier League midfielder

Arsenal are said to be confident of beating Tottenham in the race for Bournemouth midfielder Ryan Fraser, according to a report in TEAMtalk.

Fraser has been an ever-present in the Bournemouth team since moving from Aberdeen in 2013 and the Scotland international has built up quite a reputation in that time, owing to his consistent performances in the Premier League.

The midfielder particularly excelled last campaign, registering seven goals and 14 assists in the league (transfermarkt).

While he has failed to hit the same heights this season, that hasn’t stopped clubs from apparently showing interest. Tottenham, Arsenal and Everton are all reportedly keen on snapping him up, according to a report in 90 min last month.

TEAMtalk now reports that Arsenal will make the Bournemouth star an offer when his contract runs out in the summer and are confident of bringing him to the Emirates stadium.

The report claims that the Gunners don’t have a big transfer kitty this summer and so Fraser fits the profile of the type of player they want to bring in.

There is certainly good value for money in snapping up Fraser on a free transfer as he can be a decent squad option for many of the top sides. However, he is not going to improve our starting line up and there are many better attacking midfield options available in the market.
